This Halloween Party is full of some super cute and delicious treats – I’ve even got a video to show you how to create the decorations!
Easy & Fun Halloween Party Ideas
So hopefully you’ve got some fun plans for Halloween this weekend. We are actually going to a Halloween party hosted by one of the hubs’ co-workers. It is a party we have to dress up for too. I’m pretty sure we haven’t dressed up for Halloween since college (we are boring like that), so we had to do a little work figuring out what we’d be.
The last costume that I had that was super awesome was actually when I dressed up as Michael Jackson. I have always been a fan of his music and rockin’ dance moves. I curled my hair in tight curls, made a sparkly silver glove and found the perfect hat. I then wore black pants, a white shirt and a black tie to sort of match what he wore in this performance of “Dangerous”, one of my favorites.
We still have all the stuff, so I was going to be MJ again and I was trying to convince the hubs to be Janet. 🙂 He wasn’t sure so sure about dressing up like a woman and to be honest, my clothes weren’t fitting him real well (which is probably a good thing 😉 ). So now he gets to be Michael and I’m going to be Janet. Hopefully we’ll pull it off well. They are two of my faves from the 90s.
The Best Halloween Recipes
Anyhow, back to this party. It was super fun to put together. I’m so in love with the Spiderweb Chocolate Cake I made. It’s so perfect for a party and worked great.
And the Ghoultini’s made by Alice from Hip Foodie Mom for KitchenAid are delish! They are made with frozen cherries, orange sherbet, whisky (I used spiced rum) and a few other things and they are to die for! I tried to keep them all to myself. 🙂
For another little treat, I included my Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Cups! They have a chocolate cookie base, are stuffed with a mini Reese’s and then topped with peanut butter frosting. Yum!
Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars – The Perfect Halloween Party Food!
Of course the focal point and the best part are the Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars. How cute are they?! Decorated with ghosts, pumpkins and candy corn, they are perfect for Halloween! Plus, they really are easy to make. The bars whip up in a jiffy and they are topped with buttercream colored in yellow, orange and white. I got a chance to try KitchenAid’s Ceramic Mixing Bowl set and loved them!
To see just how I used my favorite piping tip, Ateco 808, to decorate the bars check out the video below. Also, be sure to head over to the Kitchenthusiast to get the full recipe and see the other step by step instructions.
