Mini Pumpkin Cheesecake Recipe
So have you noticed how the price of buying groceries just seems to go up and up? Itās something my mom and I talk about regularly. It seems so crazy the amount that we spend to feed two people.
Back in May, when I went to the BlogHer Food Conference, ALDI was a sponsor. They were handing out free bottles of wine to everyone attending the conference – they even had a Moscato! As with most things – I like my wine sweet. š I heard from many other bloggers about how much they loved ALDI and their prices, but Iād never been to one myself.
Fast forward a few months and I now know that there is one just down the road and I had no idea. Some friends from small group were talking about the great deals they were getting on groceries there. Another couple just recently told me they once got great patio furniture there for a bargain. Who knew?
So when ALDI approached me to work with them over this next month, I was pumped. Iāve been wanting to finally get my butt over to ALDI and get in on all the savings.
You guys! Why did it take me so long to get there?! The deals!
That bottle of wine that I liked so much (which just happens to be a South African wine – where the hubs is from) is only $4.99 a bottle! That is a steal for such a tasty bottle of wine.
They had so many great baking ingredients for less too. A 5 lb bag of flour was about a dollar less than my grocery store, as was cream cheese and canned pumpkin. I even got some pumpkin spice for almost $3 less! Crazy!
The shopping experience is a little different than other grocery stores – thatās how they keep the costs so low. One of the first things youāll notice is that to get people to return their carts, you put a quarter in the cart to use it and when you return it, you get your quarter back. When I got to ALDI there were a couple kids there who were LOVING taking turns putting the quarter in to get the cart, only to return it and do it again. Hours of fun! š
Youāll also want to remember your re-usable bags since they donāt use plastic. I dig it – I always use my re-usable bags anyway. I hate finding a place to store those plastic bags after you get them home. Sometimes I do forget my bags and the plastic ends up filling an entire shelf in my pantry. I could use that shelf for many things – like sugar.
While I was at ALDI, I picked up some pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, cream cheese and angel food cake to make these Mini Pumpkin Cheesecake Trifles. Less than $10 for all those ingredients. Score!
How to Make The Best Pumpkin Trifles
These trifles are so easy to make too.
The pumpkin cheesecake has just a few ingredients that get mixed together until nice and smooth. Then itās layered with angel food cake (or you could substitute pound cake) and whipped cream (or cool whip, which I used).
This dessert is so wonderfully light, delicious and pumpkin-y! Perfect for after a big meal where you want a tasty pumpkin treat – but not something too heavy that youāll burst at the seams. Like Thanksgiving, perhaps? š

Going to make them for Friendsgiving. What size cups do you use?
I believe they are 9 oz cups.
Hi Lindsay, great dish! How about adding it to the Food on Friday: Cheese collection over at Carole’s Chatter? Cheers
I just realized that when I made your Oreo cookie cheesecake this week for my party that I left out the half cup of sugar!!!!! Crazy that everyone ate it anyway and said it was delicious! Now that is what I call a great recipe! A baker I will never be! You have convinced me to try ALDI. You had me at the wine comment! Can’t wait to check it out!!
Haha, I knew the wine would get you! š
I love lighter desserts like this to serve after a heavy meal! These are perfect!

Oh these look like little bites of pumpkin heaven. They are darling.
Umm yes. Every time I walk by the butter and cream cheese, I let out a big sigh. Then I go home and make pumpkin trifles and all is better in the world.
These are adorable!!! We used to shop at Aldi in Cleveland but I haven’t been to one since we moved back to Atlanta! Must remedy! My husband and I love their chocolate covered marzipan logs. Mmmmm. Gorgeous pictures too! Pinned!
Ohh, I’ll have to check out the marzipan logs! Thanks girl!
I’ve never heard of ALDI before. I wonder if we have any near me.. I love these little trifiles and how easy they are!
I hadn’t heard of it until this year either. š Thanks Julia!
+I am used to the way Aldi works now and I am happy to have no frills so that I get much cheaper groceries. I don’t need a million digfferent things to choose from and that makes shopping quicker too!
Awesome! You are exactly right – so glad you like it! š
Sounds like you’ve found your happy store! Mine is Target. š
