If youโ€™re craving an escape to some tropical beach with no cares in sight, these frozen mango margaritas will all but get you there. Inspired by the iconic Mango Margarita from Chili’s, they deliver bold, fruity flavor and an irresistibly creamy texture. Unlike traditional marg recipes that rely on ice (which can water down your bevvy), this one uses frozen mango, which keeps every sip wonderfully flavorful, and perfectly chilled. They’re kind of like grown-up smoothies, if you think about it!

Whether youโ€™re hosting friends or treating yourself, these margaritas are guaranteed to impress. I love how easy they are to make, too! Just toss everything into a blender, and in 5 minutes, youโ€™ll have yourself a couple of no-fuss drinks that pair perfectly with your favorite tacos and/or my famous Mexican Street Corn Salad. No, that’s a party!

These Mango Margaritas Are Summer in a Glass

Need an excuse to make a sinfully delicious cocktail or two? Here’s why these mango margs deserve your attention:

  • Ready in 5 minutes. Simply toss everything into your blender and hit go. Frozen mango comes pre-peeled, so you don’t even have to worry about that!
  • Big mango flavor. Lots of blended margaritas use ice, which melts pretty quickly, diluting the flavor of the cocktail. Not here. This recipe uses frozen mangos instead of ice, keeping your margarita perfectly chilled without losing that bold, fruity taste.
  • Creamy and Refreshing Texture. When blended thoroughly, the frozen mango creates a luxuriously creamy texture that almost makes the cocktails sip like a grown-up smoothie! Who could say no to that!?

What You’ll Need

Time to gather your ingredients! Here’s what you’ll need to make these tropical frozen cocktails. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card below for exact measurements.

  • Frozen mango chunks – I like starting with frozen mango (instead of fresh). That way, you don’t need to add ice, which melts, watering down your margarita.
  • Tequila – Silver (aka blanco) tequila is my favorite for this cocktail. If you’d like to throw a little mezcal in there for a smoky twist, I won’t stop you.
  • Fresh lime juice – I mean it when I say “fresh”. Squeezed straight from the lime. Bottled lime juice has a dull, overly acidic flavor that kind of icks me out.
  • Orange liqueur – Like Cointreau or Grand Marnier. Triple Sec will also work.
  • Simple syrup – Or agave. Feel free to experiment with both to see which you prefer. And don’t be afraid to use a little more (or a little less) depending on how sweet the mangos are (and on your taste preferences).
  • Sugar – For the rim. Tajin would be another fun alternative. Salt could work, but I don’t love it with the mango.
  • Lime slices – For garnish. Mango slices would be fun, too.

Tips for the Perfect Mango Margarita

Get this mango margarita recipe just right with these simple tips and tricks:

  • Stick to frozen fruit. Using frozen mango not only allows you to skip the ice but also gives these cocktails a smooth, almost creamy texture that is out of this world.
  • Use a high-powered blender. You want to make sure the mango chunks are fully blended and that the margarita is smooth and creamy. A less powerful blender won’t yield the same results as something like a Vitamix or Blendtec.
  • Chill your glasses. If you put your glasses in the freezer 30 minutes or so before serving, your cocktails will stay extra cold and refreshing. Perfect for a hot day!
  • Sweetness check. Everyone’s taste buds are different! I went with two tablespoons of simple syrup (or agave) in the whole batch. But you might like more (or less) sweetness. So, start with one tablespoon, give the contents of the blender a taste, and add more as desired.

Can I Make This a Pitcher Drink?

Totally! This recipe makes two margaritas, but there’s nothing stopping you from doubling (or even tripling!) all of the ingredients, blending them together, and pouring them into a pitcher for your next party. You can do this in batches, transferring each blender-full to a pitcher, if that’s easier.

  1. Hi, just to let you know the print button isn’t working – it takes you back to the same page.

    1. Yes, I’m sorry about that. We are working on transitioning the recipe card on the site and it’s giving a conflict with the print button. It should be resolved soon. Thanks!

  2. The mango margarita recipe says to add all the ingredients to the blender but then it says to put the sugar on a plate to coat the rims of the glassโ€ฆ. does sugar go in the blender or not?ย

    1. I’m so sorry for the confusion. The sugar goes in the blender for the margaritas. You’ll use some additional sugar for the rims. I’ve updated the recipe. Thanks for letting me know!
