Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treat Cupcakes
Can you believe Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away? There’s not nearly as much prep as at Christmas, but I know some people and kids put quite a bit into it. I know I used to love getting my Valentines and candy together to give to my friends. I think if I were to pick out valentines right now, I’d go for the Disney princesses. I’m a lifelong fan.
But as an adult, it’s not nearly as fun. The hubs and I really don’t do that much for it, but that’s on purpose. We did more when we were younger, but I see no need for it now. We’ll have a date or something and that’s all we need.

However the hubs and I started dating in high school and he went ALL OUT for our first Valentine’s Day. He talked to my mom the night before and had her leave the garage door unlocked so that he could get to my car. Then in the middle of the night he decked out my car with Valentine’s Day stuff. I had one of those oversized cards on my windshield, a teddy bear, candy, flowers, balloons – the works – in my car. It was the sweetest thing and he made me feel so special.

My Husband Loves Rice Krispie Treat Desserts
My gift for him wasn’t nearly as exciting, but it was thoughtful. He’s always been a big rice krispie treat fan, so I got a heart shaped cake pan and made him a giant rice krispie treat. Should’ve known back then I’d be a dessert blogger. 😉
So here I am sharing a rice krispie treat for Valentine’s Day treat! Fitting, right? Perfect for the hubs and loved by all.

This Rice Krispie Treat Recipe Is Easily Customizable
They’re made even better by the addition of a cake mix. You know I love me some cake batter flavor. I used a strawberry cake mix, which was perfect because it turned them pink. You could use any flavor you want though, or no cake mix at all.

It’s A No Bake Recipe That Is So Easy To Make
These treats are no bake and easy to make with your kids and they’d be a great treat to share with friends. It’s kind of like two treats in one – a rice krispie treat and a gummy heart! Yay! I love gummy hearts. 🙂

These are really cute! Thinking of making these tonight but had a quick question. Is the cake mix added while the pan is over the heat or after it is removed from the heat? And the cake mix is added straight from the bag opposed to actually baking the cake, correct? Thank you!
Yes, add the mix straight from the bag and while it’s over the heat. Remove from heat after it’s added.
Can you use cupcake liners as well or do you think that the Rice Krispies will stick to the paper?
I haven’t tried it, but I think they’d probably stick to regular paper liners. I think I’ve seen silver foil liners before though and those might work.
