Not only do I have an awesome Oreo Cookies and Cream Cookie Cake to share with you today, but I've also got a wonderful giveaway going on to celebrate my friend Carrian's birthday! What a great way to celebrate - with this delicious cake and an awesome giveaway for a Microsoft Surface! Yay! So how was your Easter weekend? I hope it was awesome! We had my mother and sister-in-law in town and had a nice, relaxing weekend. It might have been the first weekend in...well, I don't know how long, that I didn't do blog baking. Just baked and cooked for our Easter meal. It was kind of nice. I love baking for the blog, but I totally messed up the pie crust for my Strawberry Cream Pie. And when normally I'd have been frustrated because I'd have to redo it, it was nice to just not care. It might not have … [Read more...]

Fruit Cheesecake Sugar Cookie Cups

Fruit_Cheesecake_Sugar_Cookie_Cups-featured

These Fruit Cheesecake Sugar Cookie Cups are fresh, fruity and totally perfect for spring! Easter dessert maybe? The combination of moist and chewy sugar cookie, smooth no-bake cheesecake and fresh fruit is such a wonderful mix of taste and texture. I want them all to myself! :) I recently got the chance to try a bag of Zulka Morena Pure Cane Sugar. It's a non-GMO verified and vegan morena sugar. A morena sugar is one that doesn't undergo conventional refining processes, which remove the complexity and flavor in raw sugar cane after it's been processed. Zulka's sugar has a more natural, slightly brown color to it. The granules are also bigger than regular granulated sugar, but it's completely interchangeable with regular sugar -> 1 cup regular sugar = 1 cup Zulka sugar. And it packs a big, … [Read more...]

Baileys Chocolate Cookies

Baileys_Chocolate_Cookies-featured

These Baileys Chocolate Cookies are so moist, chewy and flavorful, you will not want to share. They have just the right amount of Baileys flavor - not too overpowering, but definitely there. And the white chocolate on the outside gives it that extra boost of chocolate flavor, as well as a bit of crunch and variety in texture. I think these might be my new favorite cookie. They are definitely the hubs’ new favorite. I got up last Saturday morning to make them before we left to go do some things that he need to do. I was trying to hurry since I didn’t want to make him late. I was starting to think I was going to be short on time and have to put the dough in the fridge and finish the other half of the cookies later. Then he tasted one of the cookies. All of a sudden he was trying to eat all … [Read more...]

Moist and Chewy Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Banana_Oatmeal_Cookies-featured

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies are hands down the best banana flavored cookie I've ever had. Not only are they moist and chewy for days, they are unmistakably banana-y. Banana can be one of those flavors that can get lost when you bake with it. It can be really subtle flavor. It always bums me out when that happens, because I LOVE the taste of banana. And so does the hubs. So when good flavored banana treats come along, we go a little crazy for them. These cookies make the list of banana things to go crazy for. Without a doubt. And they're so moist, they almost melt in your mouth. Plus, with both banana and oats in them, they're basically healthy, right? ;) And perfect for breakfast! Making them is just as easy as eating them. You've got the usual suspects - butter, brown sugar, white … [Read more...]

Mini Strawberry Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Strawberry_Cheesecake_Cookie_Cups-featured

These Mini Strawberry Cheesecake Cookie Cups are little bites of heaven! A soft and chewy cookie filled with a no-bake cheesecake filling. They're even tastier than I had pictured in my mind. I love it when that happens! :) Yesterday was a crazy travel day! I'm in Salt Lake City for the Build Your Blog Conference hosted by the sisters of Six Sister's Stuff this weekend and I couldn't be more excited! Getting here was not easy though! I had a flight delayed, which was going to make me miss my connection. So I changed flights and decided to go through Philadelphia rather than Houston, TX. I figured if I was potentially going to get stranded somewhere, Philly would be best since my mom just happens to be working there this week. I ended up with a canceled flight, then a new flight, which was then … [Read more...]

Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Reeses_Peanut_Butter_Cookie_Cake-featured

I have become completely obsessed with this Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake. It’s a moist and chewy peanut butter cookie stuffed with chocolate chips and chopped Reese’s. And as if that wasn’t enough, I topped it with a delicious chocolate frosting, more chopped Reese’s and chocolate sauce. Hold on while I the wipe the drool off of my keyboard… Needless to say, this cookie cake didn’t last long. I could barely keep my hands off of it while I took pictures. In an effort to not eat the entire thing and add another pound to the scale, I took most of it to our small group to get a little help from my friends. Of course, I had to leave some behind for the hubs (he’d like to add lbs to the scale) and then hide it from myself. Give that a try. Not so easy to hide things from … [Read more...]

Soft and Chewy Eggnog Cookies

Eggnog_Cookies-featured

These Eggnog Cookies are fantastic. They are insanely soft and chewy and you need to make them. That is all. Ok that's not really all. I'm sure you need more than that to believe me, but it's true. Eggnog is one of my favorite holiday flavors. I love them all, but as soon as eggnog hits the store we start drinking it. We've been through more cartons than I can count and it's not from baking, except for these cookies. We're even picky about our brand of eggnog. They are not all the same. Our favorite is the Southern Comfort brand (it doesn't have alcohol in it already in case you're wondering). I have to make special trips out of the way to Wal-Mart to get it. Because of that, we've tried multiple other brands, but they just aren't the same. So I keep going out of my way for the good … [Read more...]

Snickers Chocolate Cookies

Snickers_Cookies-featured

These Snickers Chocolate Cookies are full of chocolate, peanut butter and caramel! They are so soft and chewy and oh so tasty - especially warm! I made these cookies as part of the Food Blogger Cookie Swap. I'm so happy to be participating this year! I didn't know about it last year, so when I found out about it this year I couldn't wait! It's hosted by two great bloggers - Lindsay from Love and Olive Oil and Julie from the The Little Kitchen. The brand partners this year were OXO, Gold Medal Flour, Dixie Crystal Sugar and Grandma’s Molasses. Here's how it works: after signing up, I got matched with three other bloggers. I made a dozen cookies for each of them and sent them off! I also received cookies from three other bloggers. Who you were getting cookies from was a secret until you actually … [Read more...]

Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cranberry_White_Chocolate_Chip_Cookies-featured

These Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies are some of my favorites! And with the cranberries, they are a perfect treat for the holidays. I have always loved this flavor of cookie, but the last time a made them was a couple years ago and they were from a mix (gasp!). I don't actually have anything against mixes, but I do like having control over just how perfectly my cookie tastes. I'm a control freak like that. ;) And these babies are just like I like them - full of cranberries and white chocolate, and soft and chewy. They're also pretty big cookies. The more, the merrier I say. And this is a merry time of year. And guess who was merry this weekend! Yes, I was. But mostly is was Jessie (our black lab). She turned 3 on Friday! I can't believe she's already 3. She'll always be my baby. :) I … [Read more...]
