Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pizza

Welcome to Cookie Dough Week! Are you as pumped as I am?! My first recipe is this Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pizza. It is so delicious and easy to make, I couldn’t wait to share it will you!

It’s a Pillsbury pie crust, crusted with Oreo crumbs, topped with chocolate ganache and chocolate chip cookie dough. I finished it off with some chocolate sauce and additional chocolate chips. Simply amazing.

I had this idea for a while before I knew exactly how I’d execute it. I absolutely loved the idea. There’s been a lot of super fun cookie pizzas swirling around as of late and I’ve been wanting to make my own. However, with it being cookie dough week, I wanted to stay true to the cookie dough – unbaked.

So using a baked cookie crust just wouldn’t work. I wanted raw, delicious cookie dough all over it – eggless, of course.

I toyed with a few ideas. First was a purely Oreo crust – kind of like a pie crust. But I thought that wouldn’t hold together real well, and I want you to be able to pick up a piece just like you’re eating a slice of pizza, so that wouldn’t work.

Then I considered an actual pizza crust. Not sweet enough. I mean, really. This blog is all about the sugar.

Then a lightbulb went off. I had a leftover pie crust from making my Strawberry Cream Pie for pi day and I just knew it’d be perfect!

How to Make This Amazing Dessert Pizza

I baked the pie crust first, on it’s own, so that it would be a nice, firm foundation for the ‘pizza’ toppings. And I didn’t want it to lack any chocolate flair, so I figured adding Oreo crumbs just made sense, right?

Best decision ever. The pie crust was the perfect choice. The buttery, flakey crust complimented the rest of the pizza and the cookie dough exactly like I wanted it to. Seriously, so yummy!

Then, to hold it all together and make sure the cookie dough would stick well to the pizza, I used chocolate ganache. Again, perfect.

You guys, this thing comes together in no time and looks like a million bucks. I put it out for our small group and it was devoured. Might be one of my biggest hits with them so far. Although they do still talk about this Funfetti Millionaire Cake too – that thing’s the jam. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must.

But back to the cookie dough. This thing rocks. And I know I’ll be making it over and over again. I LOVE it and I know you will too!

Description

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pizza is a wonderful dessert pizza recipe! Enjoy the delicious taste of chocolate chip cookie dough without the risks!

Ingredients

Scale

PIE CRUST

  • 1 Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Oreo crumbs

EGGLESS COOKIE DOUGH

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour, toasted/heat treated
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

CHOCOLATE GANACHE

  • 6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

ADDITIONAL

  • Chocolate sauce, for drizzling, optional
  • Additional chocolate chips, for sprinkling on top, optional (I used mini chocolate chips)

Instructions

1. Unroll theย Pillsbury pie crust. Lay flat on a 12 inch pizza pan and poke all over with a fork.
2. Brush the top of the pie crust with the melted butter.
3. Sprinkle oreo crumbs over the buttery pie crust.
4. Bake pie crust at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, until edges start to brown.
5. Remove pie crust from oven and allow to cool.
6. To make the cookie dough, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
7. Mix in the vanilla extract.
8. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour and mix until well combined.
9. Add a little milk to get your preferred thickness of the dough.ย Dough will be thick.
10. Stir in the chocolate chips. Set aside.
11. Place the chocolate chips for the chocolate ganache in a small-medium heat proofย bowl.
12. Microwave the heavy cream for the chocolate ganache until it starts to boil. Remove from microwave and pour over the chocolate chips.
13. Cover the bowl with saran wrap for 5-7 minutes.
14. Whisk the chocolate and cream until smooth.
15. Allow the ganache to sit for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly, then pour over the pie crust and spread into an even layer.
16. Drop bits of cookie dough on top of the chocolate ganache. It will createย a thick layer of cookie dough.
17. Top with chocolate sauce and additional chocolate chips, if desired.
18. Store in refrigerator. Dough will be firm when cold, so remove from fridge about 20 minutes before serving, or pre-slice the pizza.

  1. Can I make this in 13×9 pan. ย What temperature and how long to bake ? Ty.

    1. I haven’t ever tried it. You’ll probably need a couple crusts to piece together and some additional ingredients. The temperature should be the same, but I’m not sure on baking time.

  2. This looks incredible! My daughter wants a “cookie cake” for her birthday! This looks like the perfect treat to make for her and her friends! Thank you for sharing another wonderful recipe!

  3. Hi! I am in the middle of making this for my daughter who cannot eat eggs, and i think there’s an error in the ingredients list. It says you need 6 oz of chocolate chips, but the recipe says to add chips to the cookie dough, and then to put the chips in a bowl with the hot cream. So, do I need 12 oz of chips? Looking at the photo, I am not sure if there are any chips in the cookie dough. Please explain! Thank you. I can’t wait to try it!

    1. After reading through the recipe, I can see where it’s confusing. There’s chocolate chips listed for the cookie dough and with the ingredients for the ganache. I have re-written the ingredients list to be more clear. I hope that helps!

Honey, this looks beyond terrific! For the Oreo part, are you crushing up whole cookies, or do you buy just the crumbs (minus the cream filling?) Thanks so much!!

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com says:

I crush up the whole cookies.

  5. Looks so good, plan to make it for a dinner party on Friday! Do you think I could make it Thursday night and just keep it in the fridge until Friday, or would it be better if I waited til Friday before dinner to assemble it?
    Thanks!!

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com says:

You could definitely make it ahead and it’d be fine.

  6. Can this be made somehow without the pie crust? or with a graham cracker pie crust?

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com says:

I think it’d be hard with a graham cracker crust – it might kind of fall apart. You could use an actual pizza dough, but it’ll be thicker and less sweet.

  7. I just made this, and it is amazing! Thank you! I substituted the pie crust for an Oreo pie crust and it worked perfectly. I don’t really care for plain pie crust so it was a very sweet substitute!

    1. lifeloveandsugar@gmail.com says:

Awesome! I’m so glad you liked it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. This is genius! I love that you used a pie crust to make the “pizza” crust and of course, you had to add those crushed Oreos! Stunning and absolutely irresistible

Thank you Roxana! The pie crust is my favorite part ๐Ÿ™‚
