What Are Red Velvet Cookies?

These soft and chewy cookies are made with a touch of cocoa powder and a little tang. Plus, they’re studded with white chocolate chips!

Simple Ingredients

Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set it aside.

Cream the Butter

Place the butter and sugars in the bowl of a mixer. Beat for 2-3 minutes or until light and fluffy.

Add the Eggs

Mix the egg into the creamed butter until well combined. Then add the vanilla extract, vinegar, and food coloring.


Mix in the dry ingredients until well combined. Don’t over-mix.

Add the Chocolate Chips

Reserve 1/3 cup of white chocolate chips for press into tops before baking, then fold the rest into the dough.

Roll the Dough

Measure out 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough, roll them into balls, and set them on the baking sheets.


Press the reserved chocolate chips on top of the balls of dough. Pop the trays into the oven for 7-9 minutes.


Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.
