How to Make a  Drip Cake

What is a Drip Cake?

A drip cake is exactly what it sounds like! A cake with chocolate that is dripped down the sides. It's so good. You can use a squeeze bottle or a spoon to drizzle chocolate down the sides and make a pretty "drip" decoration.

What Do You Need?

You only need 5 tools to make a drip cake: 1. Turntable 2. Squeeze bottle OR spoon 3. Frosted cake 4. Offset Spatula 6. Chocolate ganache

Make the Chocolate Ganache

Step one is making a perfect chocolate ganache! I have a few tips that make this super easy.

Add the Drip with a Bottle

My favorite way to add a drip is with a squeeze bottle. Add chocolate and drizzle - that's it!

Spread and Smooth 

Use an offset spatula to spread the ganache evenly for a gorgeous finished look.

You're done! 

Your drip cake is beautiful and ready to serve!

Spoon Method

For this method use a spoon to add the chocolate to the edges of the cake and gently push it over the edge so that it falls, creating a drip.

Fill in and Spread

Pour the remaining chocolate ganache onto the top of the cake and use your offset spatula to spread it evenly.

Ready to Serve!
