I Love Recipes That Use King’s Hawaiian Sweet Bread

If you’ve never used King’s Hawaiian bread before, you are in for a treat. It’s easily a favorite of mine. It’s a naturally sweet bread that I use for many things – sandwiches, breakfast casseroles. I love the bit of sweetness it adds. And it’s perfect for these buns!

This Easy Dessert Is Ready In Less than 20 Minutes

It’s so nice to be able to make some fun dessert rolls without having to make dough from scratch or wait for it to rise, etc. You can seriously make these so quickly. It takes about 5 minutes to put everything together and 10-15 minutes to bake. Mix together sugar, melted butter and chocolate and caramel sauce, then pour it over the King’s Hawaiian Rolls. Top them with chocolate cookie crumbs and they are ready to bake! It doesn’t get better than that.

How Can I Make This Halloween Dessert More Spooky?

I love the use of the cookie crumbs and gummy worms. It kind of reminds me of the dirt cups I’ve seen, but in sticky roll form. 🙂 These would be so cute for dessert or even a sweet breakfast treat. When you add the spooky whipped cream ghost you are ready to party for Halloween!

The ghosts are super simple to make. It’s just homemade whipped cream with some mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth. I quickly made the whipped cream while the rolls baked.

Can I Make These Sticky Buns Ahead Of Time?

These chocolate sticky rolls are definitely best when they are warm out of the oven! All the gooey, sticky chocolate and caramel sauce is pure heaven! The sweetness from the King’s Hawaiian bread is just perfect! I added some extra cookie crumbs when they came out of the oven too.

I dare you to try and eat just one. I’m pretty sure two were in my belly before I even blinked. I could’ve easily eaten the whole pan myself. Ghost and all. But I was nice and shared. 🙂

Description

These Spooky Chocolate Sticky Buns are a perfect dessert for Halloween. This recipe is so easy to make using KING’S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and they come together in less than 20 minutes!

Ingredients

CHOCOLATE STICKY ROLLS

  • 12 King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup chocolate sauce
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 3/4 cup chocolate cookie crumbs

WHIPPED CREAM AND ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powered sugar
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Gummy worms

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×9 baking pan.
2. Place King’s Hawaiian rolls in the pan.
3. Combine brown sugar, melted butte, chocolate and caramel sauce, then spread evenly over the rolls. Mixture will be fairly thick, but will melt over the rolls as they bake.
4. Sprinkle half of the cookie crumbs over the rolls.
5. Bake rolls for 10-15 minutes, until sauce around the bottom of the rolls is bubbly.
6. While rolls bake, make whipped cream. Whip heavy whipping cream until it begins to thicken, then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
7. Once rolls are baked, at gummy worms around the rolls.
8. To serve the rolls, place on a plate, then pipe some whipped cream and add mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth. Serve rolls warm.

Notes

There should be enough whipped cream to make 6-7 “ghosts”.
