Raspberry Orange Shortbread Bars

Raspberry Orange Shortbread Bars! Made with pulp left over from the juicer, giving you juice and bars from the same fruit!

The products used in this post were provided by KitchenAid, but all opinions are my own. These Raspberry Orange Shortbread Bars are drizzled with a delicious vanilla glaze! They are a sweet, fruity bar that’s perfect for summer! And to make them even more fun, they are made with juice pulp.I had so much fun making these bars. I got the chance to try two great KitchenAid products - their Easy Clean Juicer and the 11 cup Food Processor. I’ve been really curious about trying out a juicer and I’ve been dying for a bigger food processor, so this was the perfect recipe to try them out on.Both products were awesome. The juicer is really fun to use and makes great juice. I kind of want to use it every day. Plus, I love that I can use the pulp from the juice to bake with. Nothing goes to waste and you … [Read more...]

Bunny Peeps in a Blanket Brownies

Peeps_in_a_blanket_brownies-featured

These Bunny Peeps in a Blanket Brownies are super fun for Easter! A moist and chewy brownie is topped with a cute bunny peep, then dipped in chocolate. So easy and kids will love them. :)So I know this type of recipe isn’t really my usual thing. I’m normally about the big, the bold, the beautiful. Not to say that peeps aren’t beautiful, but you know what I mean. But this idea popped into my head and I had to run with it. I mean - peeps in a blanket? You know you can’t help but love it. They’re funny and festive and they have sprinkles. How can you not love them?Plus, marshmallow and brownies dipped in chocolate? Delish. Dipping things in chocolate always makes them exponentially better. I don’t know what it is about putting a candy coating on a brownie or a cookie, but it’s just plain yummy. The … [Read more...]

Guinness Chocolate Brownies

Guiness_Brownies-featured

These Guinness Chocolate Brownies are some of the moistest brownies ever and they are an awesome combination of cakey and fudgy. You will not be able to stop eating them.I have spent the better part of the last couple weeks of my life on these brownies, no joke. I wanted the most perfect version of a guiness brownie to share with you.But before I dive into all that, I have a confession. Get ready.I don't like beer.I know, I know. How can I post a recipe with beer in it when I don't like beer. I can't explain it except to say that it's my dad's fault. I clearly got my taste buds from him - he also does not like beer. It's a thing and he passed it on to me. I have tried so many times to like it. It just won't work.So I fully expected to not like these brownies. I have a coworker who … [Read more...]

Pecan Caramel Turtle Candy Bars

Caramel_Chocolate_Pecan_Turtle_Bars-featured

These Pecan Caramel Turtle Candy Bars are a fun, easy bar version of a Turtle candy. And to make them even better, they are another recipe from my grandmother's cookbook. So the weather here has been kind of crazy lately. Not Boston crazy, but Atlanta crazy. Like 60s one weekend, then freezing rain and ice a week or two later. Like, how does that work?About this time last year we had the Snowpocalypse. Ice for days and stranded cars everywhere. Fortunately the hubs mad me leave work earlier, so I ended up getting home just as it was starting to get bad.The weather we've had this week has been nothing compared to that, but it is seriously cold. And even though the roads are fine, the ice on our bushes and trees is pretty thick. Some people lost power and some trees were down, but we were fine. … [Read more...]

Samoa Cookie Bars

These Samoa Cookie Bars are a copycat bar-version of my favorite girl scout cookie! It combines a few of my favorite things into one - caramel, chocolate and coconut!I look forward to Girl Scout Cookie season every year and I know I'm not alone. Sometimes a girl scout will come along taking orders and other times I anxiously try to find them in front of stores selling them. A week or so ago, I had one come around our neighborhood selling cookies and I was an easy sell.Growing up, my favorite cookie was a Thin Mint. And I still love them - especially frozen. Plus, there's more of them in a box. But my dad has always been a Samoa fan. Always. As I got older, and my tastes refined (because, you know, I'm so refined ;) ) I began to be more of a Samoa fan. Now, I will proudly say that I have … [Read more...]

These Pineapple Coconut Bars are absolutely one of my new favorites. Pass me a pan of these bars and I'll demolish the whole thing. I love both pineapple and coconut - hello pina coladas! - so these bars are the perfect tropical dessert bar! Plus, they're from my grandmother's cookbook, so they're special. :)I shared these Banana Oatmeal Cookies from my grandmother's cookbook last year, and they've been a big hit. I've been wanting to share something else for a while and I finally made these bars. One of the great things about this cookbook is that it's actually a little spiral notebook. It's full of clippings from newspapers, family recipes, recipes from friends - all kinds of things. And so many of them are handwritten by my grandmother onto the pages. She passed away several years ago and I … [Read more...]

These No Bake Nutella Pretzel Bars are going to be your new favorite bar. Nutella and pretzels are the star of the show, giving you an awesome sweet and salty combo. Plus, they are no bake and only 5 ingredients. So I’ve almost had a breakdown twice this week. Things just have not seemed to go my way in the kitchen with my equipment. It started Tuesday…Before we left to go out of town over the weekend, I ran the dishwasher. I emptied it before we left. Included in the dishwasher was my beater attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. I got lazy and apparently that was a bad idea. When I went to use it on Tuesday, I picked it up and it had this grey stuff rubbing off onto my hands. I don’t really know what happened, but after trying to clean it a few ways that I googled, I gave up trying to fix it. … [Read more...]

Maple Bacon Rice Krispie Treats

Maple_Bacon_Rice_Krispie_Treats-featured

These Maple Bacon Rice Krispie Treats are a great easy, no bake and lighter treat. They are also a great treat to eat while watching football, along with my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Footballs. I mean bacon and football? Yes.So having a dog is awesome and having Jessie is even better - she's seriously the most chill, cool dog you could have. She's so chill, most people tend to even forget she's around. We can put food out on the coffee table when we have people over and we know she won't eat it, even though it's literally right at face level for her.Of course, if we left food out and then left the house for a few hours, she'd totally eat it. But everyone has their limits. And she's gotten her paws on a few things before, but overall, she is one awesome dog. And she's the perfect dog for … [Read more...]

These Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars are a classic! Everyone should have a go-to soft, chewy and delicious sugar cookie bar recipe. This is definitely that recipe! With the holiday season officially upon us, cookie plates are going to be going around like crazy. All the baked goods are definitely one of the best parts of the holidays - in my opinion anyways.I remember making cookies every year at Christmas with my mom and younger brother. We would actually do a few varieties of cookies. Some went to feed Santa on Christmas Eve and the rest were used for the Christmas party my parents hosted on Christmas Day. I always loved seeing which cookies got eaten first. One cookie that was always included was sugar cookies. We'd decorate them with Christmas colored icing. Sometimes we'd even use cookie … [Read more...]

Trying to get a little rest and get some things done before heading to Chicago on Thursday. I mentioned a week or so ago that I’m going to be working with ALDI this month and I’m super excited to join the ALDI team and some fellow bloggers in Chicago to visit the ALDI Test Kitchen.I visited an ALDI store for the first time last month and loved all the awesome deals they had.
