Eggnog Spice Blondie Cheesecake

Eggnog_Spice_Blondie_Cheesecake-featured

This Eggnog Spice Blondie Cheesecake is all your eggnog dreams come true. :) The blondie base is full of my favorite spices of the season - cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves. It is moist and chewy and wonderful. The no bake eggnog cheesecake on top is smooth, thick and creamy. The combination of flavors and textures make this a must-make Christmas dessert. How is it that Christmas is only a week and a half away? It’s killing me. I’ve got family coming into town starting Friday and I’m so not ready for it. Not like I’m not ready for them to come, there’s just a lot to do to get ready. I finally went Christmas shopping with my mom last weekend and got a few things done, but not nearly as much as I needed to. I did get the shopping for my nieces done though. They’re probably the most fun to shop … [Read more...]

Chocolate Cherry Ice Cream Pie

Chocolate_Cherry_Ice_Cream_Pie-featured

This Chocolate Cherry Ice Cream Pie is so delightful and refreshing. I absolutely love the sweet, light cherry flavor of the ice cream mixed with the chocolate. And to make it even better, it uses my new favorite baking morsels - Nestlé® Toll House® DelightFulls™ Baking Morsels! I'm so excited to share this recipe with you today. I've seen these DelightFulls Filled Baking Morsels in the store a number of times and I've been really excited to bake with them. I'm a big fan of Nestlé products in my baking and I love the idea of having two flavors combined into one amazing baking morsel. I used the dark chocolate cherry ones for this recipe, but there are also peanut butter, caramel and mint versions. It's awesome! Now instead of buying two kinds of morsels, you can buy one that combines both flavors. … [Read more...]

Gingerbread Cheesecake Trifle

Gingerbread_Cheesecake_Trifle-featured

This Gingerbread Cheesecake Trifle is the perfect no bake, easy and festive holiday dessert! It has layers of thick gingerbread cookies, no bake gingerbread cheesecake, caramel and whipped cream. Perfect for a crowd and all those holiday parties! So just this week I noticed that one of the radio stations that I listen to regularly has changed. It used to be a station that played current music and often I’d hear a song for the first time on that station - sometimes weeks before hearing it on another station. I’m kind of sad to see it go. However. It might just have been replaced with an even better station. What is it? ALL 90s. Shut the front door! If you know me well, you know I dig my 90s music. You can regularly find me jammin’ out the to 90s station on the DirecTV music stations - especially … [Read more...]

Sparkling Cranberry White Chocolate Cake

Sparkling_Cranberry_White_Chocolate_Cake-featured

This Sparkiling Cranberry White Chocolate Cake is no doubt a new favorite - especially for Christmas! The cake is incredibly moist and flavorful and the cranberries add the prefect burst of fruity flavor. The white chocolate icing compliments the cake wonderfully. And the sparkling cranberries on top are beautiful and make it look like is just snowed. If I can’t get a white Christmas down here in the South, I’ll have a sparkling white cake. :) This weekend was crazy busy, but so fun! We finally started turning our “formal living room” into my office. We’d already cleared the room, so this weekend we steam cleaned the carpets and got the main pieces of furniture. I still want to get a few other things and some decorative pieces, but the big stuff is there and I’m ready to get organized! We got the … [Read more...]

Caramel Turtle Pie

Caramel_Chocolate_Pecan_Turtle_Pie-featured

This Caramel Turtle Pie is super gooey, a little crunchy and totally delicious. It reminds me of a box a box of chocolates - the chocolates that are full of caramel inside. Those are my favorite kind. :) When I was a kid, every Christmas we’d get my grandmother (on my dad’s side) a box of chocolates as one of her Christmas gifts. I think I get my sweet tooth from my dad, and I think he gets his from her. It was always the same box every year - the big, yellow Whitmans’ Originals box of assorted chocolates. I loved when she finally opened the box. She’d always let us have some. One of the great things about that box of chocolates was that it has the guide on top, so you know how to find the chocolates you like. I’d go straight for the caramel ones - and so would my younger brother. We bargained … [Read more...]

Gingerbread Cupcakes with Caramel Molasses Cream Cheese Icing

Gingerbread_Cupcakes_Caramel_Molasses_Cupcakes-featured

These Gingerbread Cupcakes are some of my moistest cupcakes and they are topped with my new favorite icing. The cupcake is light and fluffy and the icing is a mix of some awesome flavors - caramel, molasses and cream cheese! Yum! So I recently started reading a new book/study. It’s called “Blueprint for Life”. It's about discovering your purpose for your life based on God’s plan for you and creating a plan to achieve it. I’m only a couple chapters in, but so far I love it. I was talking to my mom about it (because we pretty much talk about everything) and she said this one thing that I thought was so true and relevant. Sometimes we look for God’s purpose for us to be some hugely profound thing, and sometimes we are just making too much of it. One of the things the book talks about is that our … [Read more...]

Red Velvet Cookie Sandwiches

These Red Velvet Cookie Sandwiches are moist, chewy and taste just like red velvet in cookie form. They are filled with a delicious cream cheese icing and sprinkled with festive Christmas sprinkles - perfect for your holiday cookie tray or handing out to neighbors and friends! They’d even be great for other holidays - like Valentine’s Day or 4th of July - just switch out the sprinkles and you’ve got a holiday-appropriate treat. :) I just love long weekends, don’t you? It was so nice to relax a little bit. I did a little shopping, trying to get some Christmas stuff done. I didn’t accomplish too much, but I did get some cute new Christmas ornaments and pieces for our nativity scene. We got delayed on getting our Christmas tree, which happened last year too, and we finally got it up last night. Our … [Read more...]

Amaretto Cheesecake

Amaretto_Cheesecake-featured

This post is sponsored by ALDI, but all opinions are my own. This Amaretto Cheesecake is the bee’s knees. It is thick, creamy and full of Amaretto flavor, and it was a massive hit! I did not want to stop eating it. So about a week ago, I told you about my trip to the ALDI test kitchen in Illinois. We tasted all kinds of awesome food, and we also got a bit of a wine education from certified Sommelier, Leslee Miller. This girl knows her stuff! We got to taste all kinds of wine and learn about the right ways to taste them and how to pair them with foods. Being that I am not a huge wine drinker (I stick to the sweet stuff), it was a big learning experience and it was pretty interesting. It’s amazing how so many things can affect a wine. One thing we learned about was the difference between Old … [Read more...]

Eggnog Cupcakes

These Eggnog Cupcakes are full of awesome eggnog flavor! They’ve got eggnog in the cupcake and the icing - yes! You know I like my flavors strong and these cupcakes are no exception. :) So we had a pretty nice, relaxing weekend. Saturday morning we were up way too early, but it was for a good cause. One of the women in our small group works for the fundraising department of St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, so we joined in for the Give Thanks Walk. We brought Jessie and she loved the 2 1/2 mile walk and being outside with us. She totally could have gone another 2 1/2 miles. Then there was a food drive at church Sunday and they’ve been collecting Operation Christmas Child boxes, so we went and got food for the food drive and all kinds of things for the boxes. I love doing the OCC boxes. It always … [Read more...]

Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars

Sugar_Cookie_Bars-featured

These Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars are a classic! Everyone should have a go-to soft, chewy and delicious sugar cookie bar recipe. This is definitely that recipe! With the holiday season officially upon us, cookie plates are going to be going around like crazy. All the baked goods are definitely one of the best parts of the holidays - in my opinion anyways. I remember making cookies every year at Christmas with my mom and younger brother. We would actually do a few varieties of cookies. Some went to feed Santa on Christmas Eve and the rest were used for the Christmas party my parents hosted on Christmas Day. I always loved seeing which cookies got eaten first. One cookie that was always included was sugar cookies. We'd decorate them with Christmas colored icing. Sometimes we'd even use cookie … [Read more...]
