Real Deal Caramel Cake

This Real Deal Caramel Cake is just that - the real deal! And it's straight out of my friend Jocelyn's cookbook, Grandbaby Cakes!I could not be more excited to share this cake and cookbook with you today. First of all, the author is one of my favorites. Jocelyn's blog is wonderful and she is a gem. You won't meet anyone else who can light up a room like she does and keep you laughing. Love her. Plus, she's so real. I love that. And her realness totally shows in her cookbook which is full of stories about her family and growing up baking. Every recipe is so personal to her and it makes it not only fun to bake from, but fun to read too. She's largely influenced by her grandmother and the photos of her, her mom and her grandmother sprinkled throughout the book are absolutely beautiful. And then … [Read more...]

Apple Cinnamon Skillet Blondie

A spiced blondie filled with apples, baked and warm, topped with ice cream and more cinnamon apples. How does that sound? Well, I can tell you. This Apple Cinnamon Skillet Blondie is delicious. So this week we've got two dogs in the house. My brother's family's dog is staying with us and it's always pretty fun to have her. Jessie and her are from the same litter and spend a fair amount of time together. When they stay together they share water bowls, chew opposite ends of a bone, you name it. In fact, right now they are taking turns being the one to chew on a deer antler. The only kind of fighting they do it play fighting. When they dropped her off on Friday, my nieces found our furminator. For those that aren't familiar, it's sort of a brush that you use on dogs. I brush Jessie with it sometimes, … [Read more...]

Copycat Bojangles Cinnamon Biscuits

I have been so excited to share these Copycat Bojangles Cinnamon Biscuits with you! Those biscuits are some of my favorites of all time and being able to make them at home has made all my biscuit dreams come true! While that may seem a bit over-the-top, it’s for real. Bojangles is a fried chicken fast food restaurant, but sadly it’s only on the East Coast, primarily in the South. So while you may not have heard of it, if you are ever near one, you must try it - and get the fries! OMG! The best seasoning! And I’d tell you to also get the cinnamon biscuits, but sadly they got rid of them many years ago. :( :( :(My life was over on that sad, sad day. I almost boycotted right then and there. A soft, buttery, amazing biscuit soaked with a cinnamon filling and smothered in vanilla glaze icing? I … [Read more...]

Caramel Apple Cupcakes

These Caramel Apple Cupcakes are made with a spiced apple cupcake topped with caramel icing. They totally melt in your mouth and are the perfect use for all those apples! So please tell me I'm not the only one that has those moments where you say something totally dumb without meaning to. The hubs gives me a hard time about it pretty regularly. For example, recently we were driving over to the store and when we got to the parking lot he asked, "Where should I park?" To which I responded, "I don't know. I guess wherever there's an open spot."Now it may seem like I was being kind of a smartie there, but I wasn't. Something in my brain genuinely didn't connect and I was like, I don't know. Ha!Of course he knows me well enough to know I didn't mean it meanly and he laughed at me and said, … [Read more...]

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies

These Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies are now one of my favorite cookies. They are fall in a cookie. I think I could make them weekly and watch them disappear in no time. They were a big hit!We had quite a bit of rain yesterday. Then last night when our church group was over (we meet on Wednesday nights) it was storming again, but this time with thunder and lightening and the whole bit. The next thing we knew the lights were flickering and eventually went out.Fortunately, we already had a candle lit. It's a new wine scented candle that the hubs loves. :)So I went and grabbed more candles to light and it reminded me of how much I've always thought losing power was kind of fun. I always associate it with a sense of peacefulness. I mean, when the power is out things kind of slow down and … [Read more...]

Apple Cinnamon Cheesecake

This post is sponsored by KitchenAid, but all opinions my own. This Apple Cinnamon Cheesecake has pieces of apple and pockets of cinnamon filling layered into it to make the most wonderful apple-filled cheesecake! The combination of smooth, creamy cheesecake, cinnamon, and lightly crunchy apples is something you won't want to miss!I don't know about you, but I am really starting to get excited for fall. Apple baking always seems to get me in the mood. I start breaking out the cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel and just can't wait to devour it all over some delicious apples!Enter this cheesecake. While I left out the caramel, I absolutely considered drizzling some over the top of it and you should consider it too.But even without it, the cinnamon and apples are pure fall heaven.Making the … [Read more...]

Oreo Brookie Tiramisu

This Oreo Brookie Tiramisu is my new favorite dessert - no joke. I mean, how can you go wrong with a layer of brownie, Oreos and chocolate chip cookies, kahlua and espresso, and tiramisu filling? You can't. It's pure awesome. So a few weeks ago, I made my mom her very own Facebook account. She had been using mine for years. She didn't want her own because she wasn't sure she wanted people to be able to find her (she's an outlaw like that). But then I started blogging. And slowly, over the past three years, my news feed has changed from updates about friends (that my mom knows) and family to all things blogging. She no longer liked my Facebook. So she finally got her own page and all her friends rejoiced! Then my mom had a birthday yesterday. As soon as I called her, she told me she wasn't so … [Read more...]

Toffee Almond Streusel Coffee Cake

This post is sponsored by BAILEYS® Coffee Creamer, but all opinions are my own. This Toffee Almond Streusel Coffee Cake is seriously to die for. It’s super moist and full of toffee, almond and cinnamon flavors. With the addition of BAILEYS® Coffee Creamer Toffee Almond Cream, it is the perfect complement to your morning cup of coffee! So after our trip to South Africa a few weeks ago, one of the things I was most excited to come home to was my coffee. Believe it or not, tea is the hot drink of choice over there. And because tea revolves around a kettle and kettles are everywhere (including hotel rooms), there’s only instant coffee. The horror!!And without the focus on coffee, there was only milk and sugar to be added to it. Seriously, I need to drag boxes of BAILEYS® Coffee Creamer with me … [Read more...]
